Nicholas J. Iselo, Licensed Funeral Director/Manager
Nicholas "Nick" J. Iselo is a licensed funeral director. He graduated from Holland Patent High School in 2007. From there, he went to Mohawk Valley Community College where he earned his associate's degree in business administration. He then attended Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY, where he earned his associate's degree in Mortuary Science in August of 2010. Nick began his residency under the direction of Kevin Barry in November of 2010. He took his NYS Funeral Law Exam in January of 2012 and received his license in February of that same year. Nick has been a part of Barry Funeral Home since August of 2008.
Nick is a member a member of the Tri-County Funeral Directors' Association, NYS Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, Rome Elks Lodge #96, and he and his family are also members of Teugega Country Club. On September 24, 2016, Nick was united in marriage to the former Debra Barnum of Ilion, at St. Peter's Church in Rome. They currently reside in Ilion with their sons, Luca and Hayden. They also have a daughter and son in law, Heylee and Sean Jackson. In their free time, Nick and his family enjoy golfing, vacations, and spending time with family and friends. -
Kevin T. Barry, Licensed Funeral Director/ Former Owner
Kevin has been a licensed funeral director since 1971. He is graduate of Simmons School of Mortuary Science. He has been an owner/operator since 1974. He is married to Christina A. Cross. He has two sons, Mark and Patrick. Kevin is a Eucharistic minister and member of St. Peter's Church and is the president of the St. Peter's Parish Council. Kevin is also a member of The Knights of Columbus #391, Loyal order of the Elks Lodge #96, Lake Delta Yacht Club, Teugega Country Club and Rome Chamber of Commerce, where he served as a board chairman.

John A. Barry Jr., Licensed Funeral Director/ Former owner 1943-2020
John Anthony Barry, Jr., age 77, of Rome, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2020, at home, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Rome, a son of the late John Anthony and Doris Jean Miller Barry. He graduated from Rome Free Academy and Simmons School of Mortuary Science. John was united in marriage to Regina M. McKevitt, on October 22, 1966, at St. Peter’s Church, a blessed marriage of 54 years. He worked in various funeral homes in Ithaca and Utica before establishing Barry Funeral Home in 1974, in Rome, with his brother, Kevin. He served six years in the NYS Army National Guard and was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church and the Rome Knights of Columbus. John was very proud to be a funeral director in Rome. He served everyone with a true sense of compassion, kindness and friendship---Rome is his home. He was a member of the National, New York State and Tri-County Funeral Director Associations John was an active member of the community. While working in Utica, he served as the president of the Utica Jaycees and became a JCI Senator. After moving back to Rome, he became active in the Rome Elks, serving as Exalted Ruler for two consecutive years and guided them through a major building renovation. He also served as a District Deputy for the Rome Elks. He very proudly served as the City of Rome 6th Ward Councilor for fourteen years from 1992-2006 and always endeavored to serve Rome’s best interest. John enjoyed a variety of sports but his passion was golf. He was a long-time member of Teugega Country Club. John and Genie had the opportunity to play many rounds of golf together over the years. He also served as President of Teugega Country Club and guided them through a major renovation of the clubhouse.
