Obituary of Nancy L. Burkhart
Nancy L. Burkhart, age 75, of Rome, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023, at Bethany Gardens.
Nancy was born in Rome on May 27, 1948, to the late Frederick and Katherine Ripley Burkhart, and graduated from Oriskany High School. She worked as a treatment aide at the Marcy Psychiatric Center. She was an avid Yankees fan and loved Joe’s Pizza of Whitesboro. She also had two feathered companions, Joey and Chico, who brought her much joy.
Nancy is survived by her sisters, Mary (Frank) Lombino of FL, and Kathy (Ulysses) Upshaw of Lee Center; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elaine Bielby and Patricia Camello; and brothers, Frederick Jr., Karl, John, Mark, and David Burkhart.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Gardens for their care and compassion shown to Nancy during her stay.
In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, there will be no formal services.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
