Vera Ann Sorrentino
Vera Ann Sorrentino, age 78, of North James Street, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009.
She was born in Rome, a daughter of Lewis C. and Leota Metz Sargent Cable, and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy. Vera was united in marriage to Anthony J. Sorrentino, on January 12, 1963, at St. Mary's Church; he died May 16, 2000. She was employed for over 40 years at RADC as an administrative officer and retired in 1993. She was a member of St. Paul's Church.
Vera was an avid bowler and bowled for many years in co-ed bowling leagues and on women's bowling teams. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Vera is survived by a daughter and son in law, Theresa and Christopher Wood of Rome; two sons and daughters in law, Leonard and Susan Sorrentino of Annapolis, MD, and Michael and Nageen Sorrentino of San Francisco, CA; a brother and sister in law, Leon and Diane Bormann of Albany, NY; grandchildren, Jay and Justin Sorrentino, Tim and David Duda, and Kate and Emily Wood, and great grandchildren, Hayden and Jake Duda.
Funeral services will be held Friday, at 10:00 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, and at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
