Obituary

Troy P. White, 51 was born December 23, 1974, in Rome, NY and passed away on May 25, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Westmoreland, Troy graduated from Westmoreland Central School in 1993. After starting his career as a bag boy, he dedicated 34 years of service to Price Chopper/Market 32 as a current Store Manager, where his strong work ethic, loyalty, and reliability became his hallmark. Known for his kindness and unwavering commitment, Troy earned the respect and friendship of coworkers and customers alike. His steady presence and genuine care for others made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all else, Troy treasured his family and the many friendships he built throughout his life. He had a one-of-a-kind personality and a unique sense of humor that often surfaced at the most unexpected - and sometimes inappropriate - moments, bringing laughter to those around him when they needed it most. That unforgettable spirit will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew and loved him.

Troy's favorite place in the world was his camp at Kasoag Lake, his true happy place, where he found peace, comfort, and lasting friendships while creating countless cherished memories. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Lynn, Michelle and his little buddy Ivy for their unwavering support and kindness, during difficult times.

Troy is survived by his father, Charles White Jr. of Westmoreland; his mother, Beve Campbell White of Westmoreland; his nephew, Logan C. White, Troy's significant other, Ashley Sovay with whom he found a special bond; an aunt, Suzanne DeLair several cousins; and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory forever.

He was predeceased by his brother, Cory White; his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Martha Campbell; and his paternal grandparents, Charles Sr. and Lucille White, and his Aunt Nora and Uncle Rick Zieniuk.

Troy's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Upstate Cancer Center in Verona for their compassionate care, support, and dedication throughout his cancer treatment.

Troy's laughter, loyalty, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Troy's funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 5 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
