Theresa Ann Auricchio, age 73, of Rome, passed away December 29, 2011, with her loving family at her side.
She was born March 11, 1938, in Rome, a daughter of Paul and Angeline Stagliano Yano, and graduated from Rome Free Academy. Theresa was united in marriage to William G. Auricchio, on January 26, 1957, in the Church of St. John the Baptist; he died January 28, 1999. She was formerly employed at Metlife and the Rome City School District, retiring years ago. She was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Theresa's life revolved around her family and her faith. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandson. She was a religious education instructor and enjoyed volunteering at the St. John's summer festivals for many years.
Theresa is survived by a son and daughter in law, William G. Jr, and Dina Auricchio of Rome; a son in law, Robert Ryan, Jr. of Ft Meyers, FL; sisters, Phyllis D'Antoni of Rome, and Virginia Wendt of Verona; sisters in law, Josephine Feole of Rome, and Antoinette and James DeProspero of Rome; grandchildren, Robert Ryan III, Valerie Auricchio Washburn and her husband, Andrew, Aimee Auricchio and Derek Ryan; and a great grandson, Andrew Landon Washburn, Jr. She was predeceased by a daughter, Therese Marie Ryan, and a brother, Philip Feole.
The family wishes to sincerely thank Kathy, and the staff of 3 South at Rome Memorial Hospital for their care, compassion and friendship extended to Theresa during her illness.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:15 PM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, And at 2:00 PM at the Church of St. John the Baptist. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Tuesday 4 to 7 PM.
