Terry J. Fox, age 53, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2018, with his family at his side, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born April 28, 1965, in Rome, a son of the late Seymour and Carley Russell Fox, and educated in Rome schools. Terry was united in marriage to Shirley Lusby on June 13, 2003. He worked for many years at DorMar Roofing until his retirement due to illness. Terry was a true outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing.
Terry is survived by his wife, Shirley; two stepsons, Jerry and Tiffany Lohr, and William Baker; granddaughters, Mariah and Shelby Lohr; six sisters, Naomi and Tony Schipano, of Taberg, Juanita Mendoza of Rome, Sherry Fox of Rome, Jeannette and Bart Yahoudy of Taberg, Sheila Fox and Joe Carrado of Rome, and Janine and Dale Davis of Taberg; two brothers, Joseph Fox and Nancy Novak of Westernville, and Scott and Kelly Fox of Rome; sisters in law, Carol Poile and Wayne Richardson of Rome, and Sara and Robert Young of Syracuse; brothers in law, Joe and Kim Lusby of Camden, and Kenny and Barb Murphy of Rome; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends, Steve and Beth Holdbrook and Rob Johnson.
The family sincerely thanks Dr. Desai and his staff, and DorMar Roofing for all the help, care and friendship given to Terry during his illness.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Lee State Road Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday from 12 Noon to 2 PM, prior to the funeral service.
