Teresa J. Billotti, age 85, of Rome, passed away January 30, 2010, at Rome Memorial Hospital, with her loving family at her side.
She was born May 27, 1924, in Dolgeville, a daughter of Anthony and Theresa Badolato Aversa, and educated in Rome schools. Teresa was united in marriage to Dominick C. Billotti, on September 13, 1947, at the Church of St. John the Baptist; he passed away November 20, 2004.
Teresa had a deep devotion to her family and her faith in God. She loved cooking for all her family and friends. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, listening to music and dancing. She also was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
Teresa is survived by two daughters, Gail Billotti of Rome, and Denise Ankin of Rome; grandchildren, William and Theresa Green, Kyle Green, Kimberly and Neil Fortenberry, Gary Jr, and Tammy Ankin, and Kevin Ankin and girlfriend, Melissa; great grandchildren, Jake, Tyler and Matthew Green, Jordan and Jenna Fortenberry, and Gary Benjamin and Nadine Francis Ankin; and a brother in law, John "Hogan" Facciolo of Rome. She was predeceased by sisters, Louise Constantino, Josephine Gattari, Antoinette Lanzi, Frances Facciolo, Mary Barone and Stella Martoccia; and a son in law, Gary W. Ankin.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Tuesday 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and entire staff of the 3rd Floor Residential Health Care Facility at Rome Memorial Hospital for their care, compassion and friendship extended to Teresa during her illness.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rome Memorial Hospital Foundation with contributions dedicated to the 3rd Floor Residential Health Care Facility, or the Alzheimer's Association of Central New York.
