Stephen Patrick Fosella, age 66, of Rome passed away peacefully on December 13, 2018.
He was born March 21, 1952, in New Rochelle, a son of Anthony V. and Estelle G. Watkins Fosella. Stephen was united in marriage to the former Judith Christine Blanchard, on April 20, 1974, in New Rochelle. He was employed at Remington Arms in Ilion. He proudly served in the U.S Navy from 1970 -73. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church.
Stephen was well known for his work ethic and his love of Italian food. He loved his family deeply including his friends who became family. His hobbies included enjoying camp with his wife and grandchildren, passionate political discussions at the Sunday dinner table, and Crossword Puzzles.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judith; a daughter and son in law, Rebecca and Philip King of Utica; a son and daughter in law, Stephen Allen and Naomi Fosella of Rome; a sister, Estelle R. Fosella of Ilion; two brothers and a sister in law, Richard Fosella of New Rochelle, and Donald and Carmelina Fosella of New Rochelle; grandchildren the prides of his life, Francesca, Bernadette and Justus King, and Abigail Fosella; his father and stepmother, Anthony and Lynda Fosella; former stepmother, Brenda Fosella;, mother in law Letttie Metot and many nieces, nephews and sisters and brothers in law. He was predeceased by his mother Estelle Fosella.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 7:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial with Military Honors will be in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 pm, prior to the funeral service.
