Goworek, age 93, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at the Betsy Ross Rehab Center, with her loving family by her side.She was born in West Branch, NY on March 9, 1928 to the late Frank and Wladyslava Suleski Kaczorowski. After graduating from RFA in 1944, she worked several jobs, went to the Utica School of Commerce, and eventually worked as a secretary for the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 26 years of service. On May 8, 1971, she married the lover of her life, Joseph Goworek; a blessed union of 30 years until his passing on November 27, 2001.Stella was a member of the Polish Home, Transfiguration Church, and NARFE. She enjoyed raking leaves, yodeling, and traveling with Joe listening to country music.Stella is survived by her sister, Addie (Felix) Brzuszkiewicz of Chittenango; brother-in-law, Stanley (Nancy) Goworek of Marcy; sisters in law, Nancy Coworek of Clay, NY, and Phyllis Goworek of Rome; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, James (Cecile), John (Louise), and Joseph Kaczorowski; and five sisters, Sophie (Zygmont) Jeroszko, Ann (Erwin) Johnson, Clara (John) Hubal, Mary (Charles) Lamb, and Evelyn Sambrosky; and two brothers in law, Robert and Edward Goworek.Stella’s family is grateful for her niece, Susie, who help care for her in her later years. Also, many thanks to Betsy Ross for their compassion and care of Stella in her time of need. Everyone loved her for her great story telling and sense of humor.Stella---we all miss you!A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 12:30 PM, at the Transfiguration of Our Lord Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W.
