Stanley E. Baldigo, age 86, of Rome, passed away January 1, 2016, in Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.



He was born April 20, 1929, in Rome, a son of the late Stanley M. and Anna Bazydlo Baldigo, and graduated from Rome Free Academy and attended Cornell University. Stanley was united in marriage to the former Doris A. Hunziker, on June 24, 1950, in St. Mary of the Assumption Church; a blessed marriage of 65 years. He was supervisor at B. S. McCarey, retiring after many years of service. Stanley proudly served in the United States Navy from 1946-1948. He was a member of St. Mary's/St. Peter's Parish, the Lee Post 1794, American Legion and the Rome Elks Club.



Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Doris; four daughters and three sons in law, Amy and Dan Replogle of Jackson's Gap, AL, Nancy and David Lowerhouse of Melbourne, FL, Linda and Lowry Brott of Wasilla, AK, and Sharon Baldigo of Rome, NY; a son and daughter in law, Jeffrey and Susan Baldigo of Clay, NY; two sisters and a brother in law, Doris and Paul Goetz of Rome, NY, and Lydia (Suzie) Chyrywaty of Waterloo, NY; a brother in law, Joe Smith of Verona, NY; and grandchildren, Kristen and Erin Lowerhouse, and Rachael, Matthew and Jadon Baldigo, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Beth Anne, and two sisters, Sally Smith and Stella Baldigo.



Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:45 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church, with Rev. Philip A. Hearn officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday 4 to 7 PM.



Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
