Stanley Buczek, age 89, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Stan was born in Rome on February 10, 1936, to the late Frank and Anna Karcz, and graduated from Holland Patent Central School in 1954. On August 10, 1957, he was united in marriage to the former Beverly A. Beckwith. He worked as a mechanic at Rome Strip Steel.
Stan volunteered at the Floyd Town Park, making sure the grounds were well maintained. He valued a hard day’s work, taking great pride in sawing lumber, hunting and fishing, and haying.
Stan is survived by his loving wife, Bev; his daughter, Debbie Erb of Floyd; his sons, Stanley “Stash” Buczek Jr. (Jodi) of Remsen, Danny Buczek, and Mark (Michelle) Buczek both of Floyd; his grandchildren, Travis (Alex), Chelsea (Desmond), Ryan, Sarah (Mike), Gabrielle, and Shane (Krysta); his great grandchildren, Bo, Augie, Wyatt, Brayden, Miguel, Evelyn, and Nina; his sister, Mary Malinowski; his brothers, Teddy Buczek, Eugene (Sue) Buczek, Richard Buczek, Mike (Sandy) Buczek, and Carl (Linda) Buczek; brother-in-law Donald Beckwith (Kathy) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Bunal; his brothers, Casimir, Walter, Edward, John, and Joseph Buczek; and his son-in-law, Ray Erb.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals that provided love and support during this difficult time. A special acknowledgement goes out to Stan’s granddaughter, Gabrielle, who never left his bedside.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at 10 AM, at the Church of St. John the Baptist with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Tuesday from 3 to 7 PM.
