Lyman, age 85, of the Town of Westmoreland, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2020.  She was born March 26, 1935, in Utica, daughter of the late William and Ina Clark, and educated in Westmoreland schools. Shirley was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Bruce Lyman, on September 1, 1956, at St. Peter’s Church.  She retired from Rome Memorial Hospital after many years of service. She was a member of St. Peter’s/St. Mary’s Parish. She enjoyed many leisure activities, especially those that focused around her family and friends.  She was always there to brighten the lives of others. Shirley is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bruce; daughters and sons in law, Karen and Frank Carletta of Rome, Kelley and Paul Powers of Grafton, MA, and Katrina and Brian Webb of Rome; a son and daughter in law, Keith and Rebecca Lyman of Rome; grandchildren, Stacey, Caroline, Paul, Alyce, Sara, Chloe, Megan, Jacob, Cody; 7 great grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a sister and 3 brothers. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, funeral services will be private.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 West Chestnut Street. Please offer online tributes or light a candle at: www.BarryFuneralHome.com To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Shirley Lyman, please visit our Tree Store
