Jones, age 87, of Rome, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2020 Bethany Gardens She was born August 25, 1932, in Rome, a daughter of the late Frank L. and Mary Petrie Premo, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1950.  Shirley was united in marriage to Robert G. Jones, on October 4, 1952, at St. Peter’s Church in Rome; he died April 22, 1975.  She worked for Verizon, formerly NYNEX in Rome, retiring in 1988 after 35 years of service.  She was a member of St. Peter’s parish. Shirley’s life revolved around her family.  She especially loved and adored her grand and great grandchildren.  She loved cooking and always cooked the Holiday dinners for her family.  In her spare time, she enjoyed doing word search problems and puzzles and watching Hallmark movies.She had a deep Catholic faith and was always kind and thoughtful of others. Shirley is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Sherilene and Michael Kinney of Raleigh, NC, Darlene and Karl Sherman of Rome; a son, Brian Jones of W. Springfield, MA; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer, Christa, Bradley, Jeffrey, Michelle, Andrea, Jessica, Aron, Matthew, Christopher, Catherine, Kristin and Katelyn; 5 great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aiden, Leah, Abbigail and Haven; a brother in law, Harold Paine of Rome; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter and son in law, Maureen and Edward Pisaneschi; three sisters and brothers in law, Mary Jane and Stanley Skibitski, Margaret and Martin Krukonis and Mildred Paine; and a brother and sister in law, Francis and Marian Premo. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W.
