Sean Michael Jordan, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2026, as the result of a tragic motorcycle accident.
Born on October 3, 1989, in Tucson, Arizona, Sean was the beloved son of Tammy (Redmond) Cavaggioni. He was also blessed with the love, guidance, and support of his stepfather, Peter Cavaggioni.
Sean spent his childhood in the Fonda-Fultonville community, where he attended Fonda-Fultonville Central School and graduated with the Class of 2007. He began his working career at the Fultonville Truck Stop, where he worked as a cook and shift lead, and later was employed by a local printing company.
For the majority of his career, Sean found his true calling at the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome, New York, a job he genuinely loved. Throughout his years there, he served as Athletic Director, Childcare Aide, and in countless other roles, always willing to step in wherever he was needed. He was deeply respected by his coworkers, cherished by his students, and known as someone who would do anything to help another person.
Sean was a gentle, soft-spoken man with a heart as big as his smile. He had a calm, steady presence that put others at ease. Even-keeled, kind, and endlessly patient, Sean was the person who never had a harsh word to say and rarely, if ever, raised his voice. He was agreeable, dependable, and always ready to lend a helping hand. His quiet compassion and genuine goodness touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Sean was a sports guy through and through; a devoted fan of the Tennessee Titans, an avid wrestler in high school and a bowler with a 200 average. But nothing in his life brought him greater pride or happiness than being a father. His greatest accomplishment was his son, Izaac, whom he adored from the moment he was born. Sean's love for his son was unconditional, and he embraced fatherhood with his whole heart. The bond they shared was the center of Sean's life.
Sean's unexpected passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, friends, coworkers, students, and all who were blessed to know him. His gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering kindness will be remembered always. Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave and the countless lives he touched will continue to live on in those who carry his memory forward.
Sean will be missed beyond words, but never forgotten. He is survived by his son and best friend, Izaac Marshall Jordan; his parents, Tammy and Peter Cavaggioni; his siblings, Jaymes Kuehner and Tina Carper; his nephew, Diesel Carper; his step-siblings, Peter Cavaggioni, Terese Cavaggioni, Isabella Cavaggioni, Gabriel Cavaggioni, Robert Handy, Tyler Handy, Samantha Handy and their families; his uncles, Maurice “Bill” Redmond and Franklin “Frank” Redmond; his son’s mother, Kayla Deuter; as well as his closest friend, Josh Gusti.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours for Sean on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 West Chestnut Street, Rome, NY (315) 337-0055. Sean’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday at 6:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation.
Sean’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.barryfuneralhome.com.
