Raymond Brown, age 83, of Rome, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday October 1,2022.Sara was born July 20, 1939 in Groton, NY to her parents Arthur J. and Ellen Mae Oberly Raymond.Sara was a strong Christian woman who put her faith and trust in God first, even in her final days. Her family, friends and church were very important to her. Sara was the pillar of strength and loved by so many. Sara's friends describe her as a woman of integrity, straight shooter, and at peace with herself. She was sweet, faithful, always smiling and very special to many.Sara is survived by her son, W. David Brown, Jr. and Jean Newman; her daughter, Beth A. Kaplaneris; grandchildren, Lisa, Kimberly, Ashleigh, Christian, Dimitrios, Anthony, and Lexie; great grandchildren, Zoie and Gehrig; and brothers, James Raymond and Robert Raymond. She is predeceased by husband, Rev. William D. Brown Sr., and son, John Marc Brown.A celebration service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 15, 2022 at the Rome Alliance Church.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Rome Alliance Church or Delta Lake Bible conference center. Donations will be used to upgrade the kitchens in both locations.Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W.
