Sandra A. "Sandie" Buhler

Sandra A. (Wright, Platt) Buhler, age 67, of Stokes Hill, joined much of her family in heaven on May 6, 2012. Sandie was born in Ava, NY on October 19 1944, and was raised by her parents, Leonard and Genevieve Platt. On April 3, 1967, she married her best friend and love of her life, Walt. They were inseparable and were truly the picture of what a marriage of 45 years should be. We called her the "Godmother." She was loved and respected by all her friends and family. She was a truly generous, giving, and loyal spirit and strived and succeeded in keeping her family close.

Sandie is survived by her husband, Walt; children, son, Walter Jr. (Beep) and wife Kathy, daughter, Star and husband Tim, and daughter, Brandy; grandchildren for whom she loved dearly and couldn't be more proud of, Cheyanne and fiance´ Corey, Dalton, Quade, Cody, and Austyn; siblings Bonnie (Fred) Drake, Sherry (Tod) Willard, Louisa (Jerry) Woodworth, Kenneth Platt; and pets, Ralphie and Coco as well as several nieces and nephews.

Sandie was predeceased by her father Louie Wright, dad, Leonard Platt and mother, Genevieve; her sisters and brothers, Cindy, Sonnie, Joanie, Billy, Bradley and Donnie.

A special thank you to Rome Hospital and to all of Sandie's doctors for their many years of wonderful care.

Memorial contributions may be given to Rome Memorial Hospital Foundation, American Heart Association, American Liver Foundation, American Kidney Fund and the American Diabetes Association.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM.
