Conover, age 68, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2023, at Rome Health.Snook was born in Oneida on September 29, 1954 to the late Russell H. Conover and Jean Caron and graduated from VVS High School in 1972. On April 21, 1979, he was united in marriage to the former Patricia E. Gentile recently celebrating their 44th Wedding Anniversary. He had a passion for cooking and spent many years in various restaurants in the surrounding area. He served as the Steward for the Stanwix Veteran’s and Mens Club from 1985-1995, and afterwards worked at Walmart Distribution Center until his retirement in 2009. Snook was a Life Member of the Stanwix Veteran’s and Mens Club. He also belonged to the Lee American Legion Post 1794, the Frank J. Steczko Post, and the Ukrainian Club. He enjoyed music and loved to sing. Snook also loved game shows, crossword puzzles and reading. His most cherished moments were the times he spent with his beloved family.Snook is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his daughters, Lisa (Dennis) Janczewski; Carla (Rob) Capodiferro, and Rachael (Mike) Magnanti; his grandchildren, Jasper Calandra IV, Megan Magnanti, Brandon Capodiferro, Tessa Janczewski, Mylee Magnanti, and Michael Magnanti, Jr.; his sisters, Patricia A. Conover, and Leslie DeWolfe; his brother, Paul “Buck” (Laurie) Conover; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jennifer Levasa-Cesana and the MVHS Dialysis Center in Rome for their care and compassion.Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, at 1:30 PM, at St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
