Roy Jay Hall, age 87, of Rome, passed away on February 4, 2025, at the Abraham House of Rome, with his family by his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Roy was born in Rome on June 14, 1937, to the late Morris and Lucy Berndt Hall, and attended school in Rome and Sylvan Beach. He retired from Mosca Brothers after working there for more than 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the Stanwix Men's Club, an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed card games with his family.
Roy is survived by his wife of 46 years, MaryLou; his children, Karen (Gary), and Danny (Sharon); his step-children, Doug (Lynette), Mary Jo (Todd), and Dennis (Debbie); his grandchildren, Tanya (Mike), Crystal, Gary (Kate), Danny (Jellisa), Anthony, and Dalton; his step-grandchildren, Jonathan, Josephine, Trinity, Felicia, and David; 11 great grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Lou (James) Chubbuck, and Beatrice (Doug) Rosenthal; and many nieces and nephews, especially Cory, who meant the world to him. He was predeceased by his son Roy Jay Hall, Jr.; grandson, Roy Jay Hall III; brothers, Morris, Frederick "Ted," George, Charles, William, and Francis; and sisters, Norene, Elsie, Carol, and Shirley.
In keeping with Roy's wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.
