Ronald S. Turner, age 76, of Lee Center, passed away January 30, 2011, at Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.



He was born July21, 1934, in Rome, the son of the late Sydney and Zora Burch Turner, and educated in Rome schools. He was a machinist at Bartell's, retiring many years ago. He was married to Shirley Ann Reitz, who died many years ago. Ronald later married Patricia Meyers on September 25, 1978, in Lee Center. He was a member of Greater Grace Church in Yorkville.



Ron was a very religious and faithful man. He was an ordained Pastor in his Church, and taught Bible School for many years. He also proudly and faithfully served as a missionary in Europe. Ron also had a great sense of humor and loved entertaining family and friends with his great love of music and singing. He enjoyed the outdoors and the peacefulness of fishing.



Ron is survived by his wife, Patricia; three daughters and sons in laws, Sharon Cosimeno and Joseph Gilmore of Washintonville, NY, Susan and Nelson Marsh of Taberg, Linda and Lyle Jackson of Lee Center; stepchildren, Barbara and Pat Libby of Rome, Brenda Choquette and Brian Chase of Rome, Frank and Sandra LaGasse of Rome, Richard and Terry LaGasse of Rome, Kevin LaGasse of Taberg, Mark and Mary Kay LaGasse of Rome, and Kenneth and Felicia LaGasse of New Hartford; several grand and great grandchildren; and a special niece, Elaine Converse. He was predeceased by his son, David Turner, two sisters, Eleanor Smith and Regina Turner, and a grandson, Dan LaGasse.



The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 to 7 PM.
