Roger W. Marsh

Roger "Skeeter" W. Marsh, age 68, of Rome, went to be with his Lord and Savior at Bethany Gardens on July 22, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

Roger was born in Rome on December 1, 1956, to Don and Nancy Cushman Marsh, and attended the Holland Patent Schools. He worked as a custodian for the Rome City School District. Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a car buff and liked talking about them with his father.

Roger is survived by his parents, Don and Nancy; his daughter, Vanessa Marsh; grandchildren, Dekin Michael and Emma Nicole; sisters, Ann (Warren) Gallaway, Karen Simons, Kimberly (Shawn) Platt, and Patty Asuncion; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many good friends. He was predeceased by his best friend, Bill Morgan.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the healthcare workers and his friends, especially his former wife, Ellie Marsh, for all the care, compassion, friendship, and love you gave to Roger and his family.

Roger's funeral will be held on Thursday, July 31, at 2 PM, at the Church of Christ, 734 Hickory Street, Rome at 2 PM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may gather and pay their respects to the family from 1 to 2 PM at the church prior to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethany Gardens Activity Fund, 800 W. Chestnut Street, Rome, NY 13440.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
