View Tribute Book It is with great sadness we are informing of the passing of Robert Kenney.  Robert is survived by his cousin, Tracy Thomas. Robert was a resident of Turin Road Rome, and spent numerous years at IRA 8. He will be missed by all who crossed his path. Robert Kenney, otherwise known as “Bubba”, “Bubs”, or “Bobby”, was nothing short of a cherished and loved member of our family at IRA 8, Turin Road Rome IRA and O’Shea Day Hab. He was an adorable man who got the most joy out of the simplest things, such as sitting in his favorite chair ripping up little pieces of paper. He could always be found wherever there was cardboard that was being recycled, or paper that was going for scrap. He was happy with the simple things in life and had more fun with a box or cardboard than most any other gift. He came up with his own names for everybody. He loved candy and desserts, but Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups were his favorite. Bobby’s favorite singer was Tony Bennet and his favorite song was I Left My Heart in San Francisco. He also would sing Whitney Houston’s “I want to dance with somebody”.  Bobby really enjoyed the outdoors. A lot of his time was spent sitting quietly smiling outside in his chair in the backyard. He was very happy outdoors picking up sticks and leaves in the yard. He took pride in his appearance and welcomed all compliments.Robert enjoyed the company of his lifelong friend R.P. ,the two had spent the last 55 years together and formed a lasting bond. These two friends roomed together during their entire stay with the DDSO. When it was time to for Bobby and RP to relocate to a more suitable home last August, it was of utmost priority that the two of them continue to live together. They shared a bedroom, sat across from each other at dinner and sat together in the living room. They had their little tiffs but each evening they would walk down the hall together to turn in for the night. We are so happy that Bobby had someone who was able to be with his friend for all his life. Robert is already sorely missed, but there is no doubt that his memory will live on for decades to come. Robert was loved by so many who had the opportunity to work with him, live with him, and day program with him.
