Robert Ferrare, age 52, passed away peacefully, February 1, 2011, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Facility, with his loving family at his side.



He was born November 5, 1958, in Rome, the son of Dominick and Carmella Fiordiliso Ferrare. He graduated from Rome Free Academy and served a four year apprenticeship with Local #79, Plumbers and Steamfitters. He worked as a plumber on many area construction projects and at Mohawk Correctional Facility the past several years. Robert was united in marriage to the former Lori Lombino, on June 6, 1981, at the Church of St. John the Baptist.



Robert enjoyed sports, especially playing golf and coaching his daughter, Gabrielle's softball team. He was an avid S.U. football fan and a season ticket holder for many years. He was a member of the Rome Elks Club, Stanwix Men's Club, Galliano Club and Rome Hook and Ladder.



Robert is survived by his loving wife, Lori, and daughter, Gabrielle; his father, Dominick Ferrare; a sister and brother in law, Mary Ann and Steve Wickham of Camden; nieces, Lacey and Kaitlyn Reed; his father in law, Anthony Lombino; sisters in law and brothers in law and families, Lisa and Louis LaBella, and Louis, Jr and Christopher Labella of New Hartford, Lynne and Mike Miller of Rome, and Anthony Lombino, Jr of Rome; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his best friend for many years, Jeff Brodock. He was predeceased by his mother, Carmella and mother in law, Helen.



A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Church of St. John the Baptist.



Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Friday 5 to 8 PM.
