Robert J. "Bob" Collins, age 67, of the Town of Lee, passed away at home on October 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Staten Island on October 30, 1949 to the late John and Ruth Tilson Collins. He was educated in the Staten Island schools. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971. On May 30, 1970, he was united in marriage to the former Francine King in Staten Island. Bob worked as a mechanic and supervisor at Whiteman Air Force Base. He was a lifelong avid golfer.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Francine; a daughter and son in law, Tracy and Sean Finegan of Grenada Hills, CA; three sons and daughters in law, Robert Jr. and Tracey Collins of Blossvale, Christopher and Brenda Collins of Desert Hot Springs, CA, and David and Feruza Collins of Parkville, MO; grandchildren, Tyler, Kiara, Zachary, Megan, Teagan, Gavin, Jeremy, Hunter, Mila, and Gabriel; a great granddaughter, Islah; and a sister, Ruth Carter of Rome.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 6 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be private.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 PM prior to the funeral.
