Buchanan, Sr., age 78, of the Town of Vernon, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2021, at the Oneida Health Center.Bob was born in Richfield, NY on June 12, 1943, to the late James and Marion Sargent Buchanan, and educated in the Richfield Schools. On August 3, 1963, he was united in marriage to the former Doris Ackerman. Bob worked for several companies in the area and most recently was a truck driver for Wayne Paving. He enjoyed watching tv and camping.Bob is survived by his loving wife, Doris; his son, Robert Buchanan, Jr.; his daughters, Shelley (William O’Donnell) Galemba of Camp Hill, PA, and Shiela (Robert) Fox of Rome; ten grandchildren, Jason (Dani), Ashlley (Dwayne), Robby (Megan), Tabitha (Henry), Robert, Tracey (David), Bethaney (Jesse), Jesse (Rachael), Thomas, and Kelsey; 13 great grandchildren and two more on the way; and a brother Ronald Buchanan. He was predeceased by his sisters, Bernice Haley, Linda Burgdoff, and Susan Buchanan; and his brothers, Ralph, Jimmy, Bernard, Clarence, and Donald Buchanan. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM, at Rathbunville Cemetery, Verona.Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Friday from 3 to 6 PM.
