Rickey E. Lewis, age 67, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2025.
Rickey was born in Syracuse on September 8, 1957, to George and Frankie Underwood Lewis. Rickey attended Rome Free Acadamy graduating with the class of 1975. He continued his education where he earned his master's degree in journalism from Old West Berry. He worked at the Rome Capitol Theater for many years and was involved with the arts and films. Rickey was a member of the Munson Williams Institute Art Foundation. His favorite hobby was documenting historical events for the City of Rome. He received several awards from Senator Griffo for his community work.
Rickey is survived by his mother, Frankie; his brother, George (Karen) Lewis Jr.; nieces and nephew, Jordan (Jennifer) Lewis and Lindsay Lewis; and great nieces and nephew, Isa, Henry, and River Lewis. He was predeceased by his father George in 2022 and his brother Gregory.
Funeral services will be private.
