Erb, age 63, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2020, at Upstate Medical University, after a brief illness. Ray was born in Utica to the late Allan and Elizabeth Perkins Erb, and graduated from Chadwicks High School. On November 28, 1987, he was united in marriage to the former Debra Buczek. Ray retired as a corrections officer from Marcy Correctional Facility. Ray loved the outdoors, especially gardening and mowing his lawn. He was quite the handy man, could never sit still always had a new project he wanted to do. He always had a smile on his face and genuine joy in his heart. He always enjoyed watching college sports such as wrestling, basketball, and football. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; his daughter, Chelsea (Angelo Wade) Erb; a son, Ryan Erb; a grandson, Brayden; a brother, Allan (Gail Sodergren) Erb; his mother and father in law, Stan and Bev Buczek; his brothers in law, Mark (Michelle) Buczek, Danny Buczek, and Stanley (Jodi Brown) Buczek; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ray will always be remembered as kind, generous, and devoted to family. Ray’s funeral will be held on Friday at 6 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W.
