Raymond S. Blaich, III, age 66, of Town of Floyd, passed away March 28, 2010, at Albany Medical Center, with his loving family at his side.



He was born November 21, 1943, in Chentalham, PA, a son of Raymond S. Jr, and Donna Blaich. Ray was united in marriage to the former Christine Bauer, on October 24, 1964, in Deansboro, NY; she died September 19, 2010. He joined the United States Air Force in 1960, and proudly served his Country for over 20 Years, retiring as a boom operator in the 41st Air Refueling Squadron. He later retired as a civilian dispatcher, working in the Motor Pool at Griffiss Air force Base. He was a member of the R. Kirk Parkhurst Post American Legion, Oriskany, the Oneida County 40& 8, Voiture 92, and was Chef De Gare from 1996-97.



Ray loved his family and was a very devoted father, but his greatest love was his wife, Christine. He cherished every year they had together until her death in September of 2009.



Ray is survived by a daughter, Michelle Blaich and Kevin Torchia of Rome; a son, Richard Blaich and fiance´e, Heather Petri of Omaha, NE; his mother Donna Blaich of Fairfield, CA; sisters and brothers in law, Peggy and Stanley Ford of TX, Linda Vorhees of CA, Donnalee Gates of CA, and Kathy and Steve Carter of CA; brothers and sisters in law, Timothy and Nancy Blaich of NV, and Paul and Linda Blaich of AZ; grandchildren, Rebecca, Robert, Renae, Kayla and Kevin, Jr.; a sister in law, Antoinette Blaich of Rome; and brothers in law, William Bauer of Rome, and Ted Bauer of Syracuse. He was predeceased by two daughters, Deborah in 1970, and Jennifer in 1988; and a brother, John Blaich.



Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:30 AM at Floyd Cemetery.



Relatives and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Thursday 4 to 7 PM.
