Peter P. Zacek, age 92, of Rome, went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2013.



He was born on February 23, 1921, in Erie, PA, a son of the late Teodor and Waleryia Staszewska Zacek, and educated in the Hinckley School House. Peter was united in marriage to the former Delma Louise Baker, on August 1, 1942, in St. Ann's Church in Hinckley. Married for 70 years, until Delma died on April 2, 2013, his care for her during her long illness in their final years was very moving.



He had fond memories of being in the Civilian Conservation Corp from 1938-1940. He worked for Kelsey Hayes for 34 years treating metal for jet engines. He enjoyed fixing things and fishing and playing horseshoes, and bowling.



Peter is survived by two sons, Brad Zacek of Rome, and George and Mary Zacek of Prospect; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Peter was predeceased by three sons Dennis, Peter & Ronald.



He was predeceased by 4 sisters, Jane Valarie Janiszewski, Irene Barbushack, Josephine Poczatek and Rose Zacek, and 3 brothers, John, Ed and Charles.



A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM, at the Redeeming Love Fellowship Worship Center, 9011 State Route 365, in Stittville.



Relatives and friends may call at the Redeeming Love Fellowship Worship Center, Thursday 4 to 7 PM, prior to the memorial service.



Contributions in his memory can be made to Redeeming Love Fellowship



Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut St, Rome
