View Tribute Book Peppino Antonio Grasso, a lifelong resident of Rome, New York, passed away on February 5, 2022 at the age of 95. Pep was born on April 17, 1926 to the late Marie & Antonio Grasso.  He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. In 1944, he joined the Army during World War ll, stationed in Japan and earned the rank of sergeant. Upon his return after the war, he married the love of his life, Carmella Puccio, November 7, 1947, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Pep worked at the Revere Copper and Brass Company in the late 1940’s/early 1950’s and as a mechanic for the Navelli Oldsmobile dealership in the late 1950s. He then took a job at Griffiss Air Force  Base, RADC division until his retirement in 1983. Pep was a hardworking family man who loved life and taught his children to do the same.  Being respectful was a lesson well-taught and learned.  After his retirement, he and his wife spent their time with family & friends.  They did some traveling and became members of the Moose Club in Utica, New York where they danced every weekend when possible.   When Pep’s “dancing partner”, Carm died in 2002, he decided to stop dancing.  But in 2014 and 2015, when his two granddaughters were married, he decided to put on his dancing shoes and gave them a truly special gift on their special days.  He is predeceased by parents, Marie & Antonio Grasso, his six siblings, Lena Coniglio (Samuel), Pauline Polverenti (Domnick), Virginia Paone (Charles), Vincent Grasso (Lena), America Cavallero (Joseph), and Nathalina Ferlo (Albert). He is survived by his son, Gary Grasso (JoAnn), his daughter, Terryann Gerber (Jeff Francisco), his granddaughters, Kristin Heck (Brandon), Lindsey Ezzo (Justin), grandson, Paul Gerber (Mandie Irvin), great-granddaughter, Elin Heck, great-grandson, Tristan Heck; and sister in law, Dorothy Grasso. His son & daughter would like to thank the wonderful care he received at The Terrace at  Woodland: Assisted Living Community & the last two and a half years with the  wonderful staff at Bethany Gardens Skilled Living Center. Pep lived a full and fun-loving life. He is finally dancing with our mom again. His family will surely miss his infectious laugh & sense of humor.  We carry that forward in all our journeys because:  “That’s Life!”. And “You’re the best!”.... The funeral service with Military Honors, will be held Friday at 7:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W.
