Pauline E. Gossner, age 92, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2011.



She was born December 29, 1918, in Annsville, a daughter of Henry and Rena Fenton Morse, and educated in Taberg schools. Pauline was united in marriage to John G. Gossner on September 25, 1943, in Taberg; he died on June 3, 1957. She was a former member of the Taberg Methodist Church.



Pauline loved music and played in the Taberg Community Band for several years. She often performed cornet solos during the concerts.



Pauline is survived by two daughters, Patricia Gossner and Christine Gossner, both of Rome; a son in law, Roger Rapke of Rome; grandchildren, Brian Rapke of Rome, and Jody vanLieshout and her husband, Philip of Rome; great grandchildren, Gregory and Alyssa vanLieshout; two nieces, Marilyn Hunt and Janice Peck and special friends, Judy Jones and Marieta Sawyer. She was predeceased by a daughter, Connie Rapke, and a brother and sister in law, Henry H. Morse, Jr. and Frances Morse.



The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Taberg.



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Monday 4 to 7 PM.



Memorial contributions may be made to the Taberg Methodist Church.
