Paul David Schieble, age 65, adored husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at home on December 17, 2025, under the loving care of his wife and daughters.
Paul was born on January 16, 1960, to Robert and Catherine Schieble of Floyd, NY. Paul was raised on his family's dairy farm with his six siblings. He graduated from Oriskany High School in 1979. He was married to the love of his life for 42 years, Christine (Trudell) on July 9, 1983, at St. Mary's Church in Rome. They were members of St. Mary's/St. Peter's, and now Sacred Heart Parish. He built their family home with the help of many family members and friends. Paul lived life to the fullest working hard and playing harder. In October 2020, Paul retired from Waste Management after 37 years. He devoted his retirement to caring for his aging parents, traveling, and enjoying time with his grandchildren.
He was a life-long Buffalo Bills and Reba McEntire fan. His favorite pastime was riding his dream bike, a Harley-Davidson Tri Glide. An absolute highlight of 2024 was his bucket list trips to Grand Canyon and Mt. Rushmore with his wife Christine. When they weren't traveling, they were enjoying spending time at their camp at Brennan Beach. Paul loved his family deeply and showed incredible strength and determination while battling cancer.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Christine; loving daughters, Andrea (Chris) Opperman, Ashley (James) Clark, and Alicia (Brandon); eight grandchildren, Collin, Nolan, Addison, Gracelynn, Jameson, Owen, Cecilia, and Kayden; siblings, Jack (Fran), Jim (Betty), Marie (Mike) Stafford, William (Linda), Betty (Eric) Dousharm, and Susan (Daryl) Johnson. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Catherine Schieble, and his twin daughters, Amber and Amy, whom he's reunited with and holding tightly.
His sense of humor and deep love for his family will forever be missed. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Hospice, especially his nurse, Chris Hadlock, for his loving care in his final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 27 at 9 AM at St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
