Patricia A. Gorczyca, age 79, of Rome, passed away June 3, 2011, after a brief illness.
She was born April 30, 1932, in Glenfield, NY, a daughter of Ezra and Grace Birch Howell, and educated in Glenfield schools. Patricia was united in marriage to Leonard Gorczyca; he died in 1970. She was employed as a developmental aide for the Rome CNYDSO, retiring many years ago. She was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration, South Rome Seniors, and the Rome Polish Home.
Patricia loved dancing and danced for many years in the United Polka League. She also enjoyed her many bus trips and traveling with her friends.
Patricia is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, David and Gail Gorczyca of Rome, and Stasiu Gorczyca of Rome; a brother, Varian "Hank" Howell of Lyons Falls; grandchildren, Robert, Michael, Kimberly and Adam Gorczyca, Mark and Justin Gorczyca, and George, Christopher and Matthew Wakulik and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Teri Ann Wakulik, and Nancy Lynn Gorczyca, and a son, Mark Gorczyca; a grandson, Patrick Gorczyca; and sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:15 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, and at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Transfiguration. Burial will be in Glenfield Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Monday 4 to 7 PM.
