Norman Babcock

Norman R. Babcock, age 91, of the Town of Lee, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital, with his loving family by his side, after a brief illness.

Norman was born in Vernon, on April 24, 1933, to the late Howard and Edna Kitchen Babcock. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1956. On September 23, 1961, he was united in marriage to the former Arlene Vaughn in the First United Methodist Church of Rome; a blessed union of nearly 49 years until her passing on August 14, 2010. Norman worked and retired from Revere Copper and Brass.

Norman's biggest joy in life were his grandchildren whom he loved to spend time with and make memories.

Norman is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Toney) Carro of Taberg; his sons, Norman (Renee) Babcock Jr. of Utica, and Jerry Babcock of Taberg; his cherished grandchildren, Erica Nelson, Zachary Babcock, Kasandra (Chris) Goodman, Loni (Joel) Babcock, Alexandra Babcock, Jordan Babcock, MacKenzie (Kodi) Stucky, and Jennifer (Matt) Carro; several great grandchildren; his brother, Gene (Lorraine) Babcock; and several nieces and nepehws. He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn; and his brothers, Robert, Howard, Richard, Gerald, and Larry.

In keeping with Norman's wishes, services will be private.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
