Nicholas Nelson "Nick" Beach

Nicholas Nelson Beach, age 19, of Rome, died September 22, 2012, unexpectedly, while at college.



He was born December 10, 1992, in Utica, the son of Kim Beach and Fred Martin. He attended Westmoreland schools and graduated from Westmoreland High School in 2011, where he was a member of the basketball team. He currently was enrolled at Herkimer Community College, majoring in Criminal Justice. Nick was recently employed by a local company where he worked as a Security Consultant at Club Blu in Utica.



Nick was a wonderful loving son. He had many hobbies including baseball and basketball. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and had fond memories of attending games at Yankee Stadium with his Dad and sisters. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family. Nick's life would seem too short to many, but for those who were touched by him, understood that the quality of existence far exceeds quantity of time in which you live it. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard. With Nick's passing, we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated, although we will miss him every day, especially his winning smile, he will always remain forever in our hearts.



Nick is survived by his parents; three sisters and a brother in law, Katrina and Jamie Deeley of Rome, Tiffany Martin and Tera Martin of Rome; and a brother, Frederick Martin of Denver, CO; several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him deeply. He is also survived by his Godmother, Chris Gossner and her sister Patricia Gossner, who were inspirational mentors to Nick. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joyce and Nelson Beach of Rome, and paternal grandparents, Arlin L. and Josephine Martin of Rome.



The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.



Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 to 8 PM
