Michael E. Shepaum, Sr., age 68, of Rome, passed away March 12, 2012, after a long illness.
He was born May 18, 1943, in Willimantic, CT, a son of George and Elsie Young Shepaum. Mike was united in marriage to the former Doris M. Lee, on July 17, 1982, at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1962-1964, and was a long time standing member of the American Legion and the Forty and Eight Voyageurs.
Mike is survived by his wife; Doris; two daughters, April Shepaum of Windham Center, CT, and Tammy Cline of Lawton, OK; two sons, Michael E. Shepaum, Jr of Windham Center, CT and Stephen C. Shepaum of Rome; a sister and brother in law, Donna and Harry Macway of Chaplain, CT; a brother and sister in law, David and Lee Shepaum of Boyton Beach, FL; grandchildren; Juelz Shepaum, Mickala Shepaum, Myriah Shepaum, Tonya Shepaum, Dawayne Cline and Calvin Cline; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Elsie Shepaum, and his brother, George Shepaum.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 4:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome. Burial will be in Connecticut.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday 1 to 4 PM, prior to the funeral service.
Reception to follow at All Saints Parish Polish National Catholic Church, 801 Hickory Street, Rome.
