Maureen E. Guptill, age 75 of Rome, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28th, 2024.
Born in Rome on October 19th, 1949, Maureen was the beloved daughter of the late Willard and Irene Heaney Atwood, and graduated from Rome Catholic High.
Maureen's gentle spirit and compassionate nature touched the lives of many. She was a devoted friend and neighbor, always ready with a helping hand or a comforting word. Her legacy of love and kindness will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Maureen is survived by her sons, William (Anika) Shank of Syracuse, and Corey (Samantha) Smith of Rome; her sisters, Sharon Burton of Beaver Falls, PA, and Katherine Atwood of Jackson, MI; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant sister, Eileen Atwood; and brothers, Thomas (her twin) and Robert Atwood.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Drs., nurses, and staff at Rome Health, and to her Rome Alliance Church family.
Maureen's funeral will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1 PM, at the Rome Alliance Church, 920 Turin Street, Rome.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
