View Tribute Book Mary Elizabeth Weaver, 53, of Rome, passed away early Sunday morning, November 21, 2021, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving husband by her side.Mary was born in Rome on March 25, 1968 to Charles Kotary and Patricia (Schultz) Rushford. Mary grew up in Rome and attended Rome Catholic schools, graduating with the class of 1985. From a young age, Mary loved helping people. In 1989, she graduated from MVCC with her nursing degree.  For the next 11 years, she practiced as a Registered Nurse throughout Oneida County. From nursing, she went on to The Arc where she worked out of the Utica office for 19 years and cherished each of her cases. She always made sure those she worked with, both employees and clients, knew they were welcomed to her home and had a place at her table. Earlier this year, Mary proudly moved onto the next chapter of her life, co-hosting a radio talk show, Living in His Love, on The Answer Broadcasting with her dear friend Rev. Trudy Daley. They aired multiple shows discussing everything from faith to family to everyday issues.Mary was united in marriage to the love of her life, Tony Weaver, on May 19, 2001; a marriage of 20 years but a love that began 28 years ago in 1993. Mary was a catholic patron who attended mass and bible studies at St. Paul’s Church in Whitesboro. She was an amazing cook and known for her lasagna dinners. You never went hungry eating at Mary’s. She loved the outdoors, going up to her and Tony’s camp located in Steuben, swimming in the summer with her two labs, and picking berries and dandelions for homemade desserts and wine. She was also an avid crocheter, making beautiful blankets for all occasions. Mary welcomed her first grandchild this year whom she adored immensely and visited every chance she had. She was a warrior, taken from us too soon, conquering cervical cancer in her early 20’s and most recently overcoming breast cancer.Mary is survived by her husband Tony; children, Karl and Lyndsay (Eberley) Cousin, Erica and Andy (Webb) Cousin, Kyle and Elyssa (Lekki) Cousin, and Michael Weaver; a grandchild, Sawyer Webb; her father, Charles Kotary; mother, Patricia Rushford; a brother, Charles K.
