Mary E. "Smith" Eychner

Mary E. Eychner, age 88, of Rome, passed away peacefully December 8, 2010, with her loving family at her side.



She was born September 11, 1922, in Rome, a daughter of Otto and Anna Herig Smith, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1940. Mary was united in marriage to Leslie "Bud" Eychner on December 14, 1946, in Rome.



Mary is survived by her husband, "Bud"; two sons and daughters in law, William and Susan Eychner of Whitesboro, and David and Michelle Eychner of Westmoreland; a sister and brother in law, Sadie and Everette "Ted" Eychner; a brother and sister in law, Ronald and Mary Smith of Tyler, TX; grandchildren and spouses, William Jr, and Megan Eychner, Marcus Eychner, Robert and Caitlin Eychner and Joshua and Deanna Eychner; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Tyrus O. Smith and a great grandchild.



Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.



There are no calling hours.
