Mary C. Shaw

Mary C. Shaw, age 90, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at Rome Health, with her loving family by her side.
Mary was born in Oswego on May 17, 1934, to the late Angelo and Catherine Cesaria Zeno. On January 8, 1956, she was united in marriage to Harold J. “Hank” Shaw; a blessed union of nearly 38 years until his passing on January 4, 1994. Mary worked at Griffiss AFB as a staffing assistant until her retirement in September 1994.
Mary enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, golfing, and working in her yard. She was a member of the Shamrock Country Club, Roberts Post 161 Ladies’ Auxiliary, and was a communicant at St. Leo’s in Holland Patent.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Shaw of Rome; her sons, Mike (Sue) Shaw of Rome, and James Shaw of Farmersville, TX; and nieces and nephews, Catherine (William) DeBan, Joann (Joseph) Conzone, Maryann (Mark Franklin) Drumm, and James (Vicky) Tesoriero. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jennie Tesoriero and Rose Stokes; and her brothers, Frank and Dominick Zeno.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Rome Health RHCF for their care and support shown to Mary and her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 27, at 11 AM, at the Church of St. John the Baptist, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery in the spring.
There are no calling hours.
