Mary Kay (Kozma) Porter, 80, of Glenville, NY, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
She was born on April 7, 1944, in Elgin, Texas, and graduated from Oriskany High School and Mohawk Valley Community College. She was preceded in death by her brother Bob Kozma and her beloved husband, Jim, with whom she moved around the world, from central New York, to Indiana, to Hong Kong, back to central NY, then to Clearwater, Florida, before finally relocating to Glenville. She is survived by her children Brett (Kathy), Darcy Baumbach (Greg), her five grandchildren, Abagail, Trevor, Keenan, Kiley, and Faith, her brother John Kozma and her sister Jetta Utesch.
Kay loved traveling the world, visiting Asia many times with Jim and bringing their kids along several times before settling in Hong Kong for a few years in the early 2000s. She will be forever remembered for the warm and supportive environment she fostered for her children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 12 Noon, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the service.
