Mary Lou Pratt

MaryLou Pratt, age 80, of Lee Center, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Rome Health, with her family by her side, after a brief illness.

MaryLou was born in Rome on May 13, 1945 to the late John and Bernice Phillips Slaga. On April 16, 1964, she was united in marriage to Norman L. Pratt at St. Mary's Church in Rome. She worked for the New York State OPWDD for over 20 years, and was recognized as employee of the year. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and later, St. Paul's Church.

MaryLou is survived by her loving husband, Norman; her son, John Pratt of Slingerlands, NY; her daughter, Stephanie Pratt of Cumberland, MD; her son in law, John Hoyt of Blossvale, NY; her sisters, Betsy (Michael) Gluck of Lee Center, Diane (Michael) Matejek of Skillman, NJ, and Dorothy (James) Lyndon, of Greensboro, NC; her brother in law, Sherman Lovelace; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Suzanne Hoyt; and her sister, Nancy Lovelace.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at St. Paul's Church, 1807 Bedford Street, Rome, at 11 AM. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro, in the spring.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM prior to the mass.
