Mary L. "Betty" Reber

Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Lascelles Reber, formerly of Rome, passed away peacefully, on February 3, 2012, in Warsaw, NY.
She was born August 23, 1924, in Darien, CT., the daughter of the late George E. and Edith Elliot Lascelles. She moved to Rome, as a child and graduated from Rome Free Academy. Betty was united in marriage to George T. Reber, on June 28, 1947, in Zion Episcopal Church; he died July 11, 1983. She formerly was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base and Revere Copper Products. She was a lifelong member of Zion Episcopal Church, a member of the Stanwix Heights Ladies Auxiliary, Alpha Gamma Phi Sorority, Ava Dorfman Senior Center, Butternut Branch of the Rome Twigs and former member of the Board of Managers at the Rome Home.
Betty is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Susan and Gary W. Appleby of Perry, NY, Nancy and David L. Patrick, of Perry, NY, and Wendy and Craig Masuhara of Frazier Park, CA; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and sisters in law, in the Reber family. She was predeceased by a brother, George F. Lascelles.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home 1 to 2 PM, prior to the funeral service.
