Mary H. Herlt, age 92, of Rome, passed away peacefully, September 3, 2013.
She was born December 8, 1920, in Rome, a daughter of the late Peter and Isabella Monkaw Augustine, and educated in Rome schools. Mary was united in a wonderful marriage to Robert Herlt on April 14, 1951, at the Church of the Transfiguration; he died December 27, 1979.
Mary was a beautiful person with a witty sense of humor and a true love for her family; she will be dearly missed.
Mary is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Jennie, Elizabeth and Stella; and two brothers, Joseph and George.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 11:00 AM, at the Church of the Transfiguration. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
