Marvin E. Cadrette

Marvin E. “Marv” Cadrette, 85 passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, in Rome Hospital.

He was born in Rome, the son of the late Willard and Emma (Merchant) Cadrette and was educated in Rome schools. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp enlisting as a teen. He participated in many military associations through the years.

Marv retired from Revere Copper and Brass after more than 40 years. He was a local musician playing in numerous bands. He never stopped playing or practicing, it was his passion. He was also a DJ known as “Marvelous Marv” and spun tunes at parties for about ten years.

He is survived by his son, Tom Cadrette (Darlene); his daughter, Tina Stevenson (Mark); grandchildren, Shelley Stevenson (Chris), Carey Stevenson (Kaitlyn), Lindsey Smith (Caleb), Randey Stevenson (Lydia), Keith Cadrette (Desiree), Matthew Cadrette, and Christie Cadrette (Eric); great grandchildren, Angelina, Morgan, Gabrielle, Keerin, Gabriel, Riley, Scarlett, Holden, Jadaleigh, Aleena, Nolan, Matix; his brother, Wayne E. Cadrette; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanne Cadrette; and brothers, Willard “Skip” and Herman “Herky” Cadrette.

Per Marvin’s wishes, there will be no services.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
