Oberriter, age 71, of Rome, passed away peacefully om March 22, 2024, at Rome Health.Mark was born in Potsdam, NY on August 3, 1952 to the late Reginold and Eva Mattis Oberriter. He worked as a welder for many years.Mark was a very kind and gentle soul and had a great sense of humor. While in high school, he earned several awards as a gymnast on the rings. He was an avid Yankee and Buffalo Bills fan, never missing a game and routed for them through the good and bad years. Mark also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.Mark is survived by his son Mark (Sandra) Oberriter Jr. of AZ; grandchildren, EJ and Marcus; sisters, Mary Wancewicz of Rome and Anne (Mike) Ellis of NC; and a niece, Emily Ellis. He was predeceased by a brother in law, Edwin Wancewicz; and a nephew, Stephen Kaiser.Mark’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd at 6 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
