Marilyn B. Giannini, age 81, of Rome, passed away peacefully, January 17, 2014.
She was born March 21, 1932, in Rome, a daughter of William and Gertrude Ernenwein Percy and educated in Rome schools. Marilyn was united in marriage to Albert Giannini, on May 27, 1967, in Rome; he died August 5, 2003. She was employed at the Rome DSO for many years, retiring in 1991.
Marilyn was an active person, belonging to the Red Hatters at St. Luke's Home and South Rome Seniors and loved playing cards and bingo with all her friends.
Marilyn is survived by a son, David Giannini of Rome; grandchildren, Brianna and Cody Giannini, Sean and Jennifer Landry and Sashell Williams; and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Landry, and a sister, Isabell M. LaMont.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of St. Luke's Hospital and Drs. Eldridge and Tisch for their and compassion extended to Marilyn.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:15 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Monday 4 to 7 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
