Miriam A. Martin

Miriam A. Martin age 91, of Stoney Creek Road, passed away June 26, 2010.
She was born October 7, 1918, in Edmeston, NY, a daughter of Glenn and Rosa Davis Peet, and graduated from Edmeston High School in 1936. Miriam was united in marriage to Gerard J. Martin, on October 26, 1940, in Old Historic St. John's Church in Utica; he died September 1, 2002. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, and a founding member of the Theresians.
Miriam's life revolved around her family and friends. She loved crafting and baking, and for many years baked wedding cakes. She loved taking pictures of everybody and everything and created a great source of memories for the family.
Miriam is survived by two daughters, Mary Martin of N. Syracuse, and Anne Wayne of Passaic, NJ; four sons and two daughters in law, Gerard G. and Jean Martin of Rome, John A. Martin of Burke, VA, Bruce A. Martin of Rome, and Randall J. and Carol Martin of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Cheryl Martin, Brian Martin and his wife, Jenny, Guy Wayne and Justin and Kirsten Martin; two very special friends, Gretchen Stevens and Judy Strauss. She was predeceased by a sister Frances Peet Gaiser, and two brothers, Owen and Raymond Peet.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:45 AM from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street and at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Burial will be in Rathbunville Cemetery.
Relative and friends may call at the funeral home, Tuesday 4 to 7 PM.
