Maria Drozd, age 89, of Rome, passed away May 1, 2010.
She was born April 15, 1921, in Stepnik, Ukraine, and educated in Ukrainian schools. Maria was united in marriage to Matthew Drozd, on May 21, 1945, in Germany; he died February 20, 1993.
Maria was a true family person and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved working in the yard and attending to her garden.
Maria is survived by a daughter and son in law, Giselle and Joseph Carucci of Albany; two sons and daughters in law, George and Linda Drozd of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Andrew and Barbara Drozd of Rome; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12 Noon, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Relative and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 9 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the funeral.
