Maria R. Barber, age 92, of Rome, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2016.
She was born August 13, 1924, in Utica, the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Puccio Arena, and educated in Rome schools. Maria was united in marriage to John Joseph Barber on July 17, 1964, in Norwich, NY; he died June 10, 2008. She was employed for many years in the accounting department at Revere Copper Products.
Maria was a former member of the Oneida County Republican Women's Club and served as the secretary of the Revere Athletic Club. However, her favorite love singing. She often sang at special events and weddings.
Maria is survived by a niece and nephew, Frank and Anna Reno.
Funeral services were private.
There were no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
