Marco A. Carletta, age 30, of Rome, passed away on June 5, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Marco was born in Utica on June 4, 1987 to Rosario and Melody Naymick Carletta. He was currently employed by the city of Rome working for the DPW. Marco enjoyed playing softball and was on several teams in Rome, Utica, and Camden.
Marco is survived by his parents; two brothers, Christopher and Adam Carletta, both of Rome; his maternal grandfather, Robert Naymick; aunts, Suzanne Carletta, Michelle Carletta and Lezlie Naymick; uncles, Paul Naymick, Gary Cosimeno and George Potter; and cousins, Justin Naymick, Patti Potter, Andrew Cosimeno, Colleen Potter, Liyah Greene and Aiden Winters
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Noreen Naymick; and his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Eloise Carletta.
The family would like to send a special thank you to a few close friends of Marco's: Mike Grimaldi, Cassie Dust and Gary Breen and the whole Comacho's group, thank you for everything. #7BallTillWeFall
A candlelight vigil will be held on Thursday, June 8th, at 5:30 PM at the Hazelton Wright Park.
Marco's memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 25 at 1 PM at Hazelton Wright Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by supporting the 4th Annual Coed All-Nighter Softball tournament at Greenman Field in Utica this weekend or to the GoFundMe page in Marco's name.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
